We will be holding clinics and demonstrations taking a holistic approach to horse care.
We are also an approved British Dressage venue and once our new facilities have been completed we will be holding affiliated events again. We will keep you posted.
Physiotherapy Clinic held monthly.
WHAT IS PHYSIOTHERAPY?
Veterinary physiotherapy involves assessment and treatment of musculo-skeletal and neurological conditions. A chartered veterinary physiotherapist will study for three to four years to become a ‘human’ physiotherapist and then work for at least two years in the human field before undergoing further training with animals. This initial human training is invaluable as it is here that skills in biomechanical assessment and treatment techniques are developed.
A Physiotherapy assessment will take up to 1 _ hours. A full history is taken followed by a physical examination. This will involve observation of standing posture and symmetry, seeing the horse moving in straight lines, on the lunge and often ridden. Movement abnormalities are noted. Range of movement of neck, back, fore and hind limbs are assessed and a palpatory examination will reveal areas of tension, tenderness and lack of mobility. Following the assessment process where problems are identified, a treatment and rehabilitation plan is formulated.
Gemma is an associate of Vicky Spalding and comes to treat our horses once a month. If you would be interested in having your horse treated by Gemma then please ring to book your appointment. Prices from £45 per session.

Holistic Animal Health Courses
This course is at two levels,
Level One considers the concept of Holism and how it applies to animals, issues around nutrition and the environment and how they can support or challenge wellbeing.
We also look at a number of herbs and how they can help animals and ourselves.
The Reiki Level one attunement occurs at this level also.
Level Two continues on from Level One, considering the issues of diet and nutrition further, more herbs and essential oils for animals, we also consider the use of crystals, flower remedies and magnotherapy . We do the Reiki Level Two attunement and look at the deeper spiritual connections with Reiki, and the research and science to support Reiki .
We also look at how to use these skills in a business for anyone wishing to pursue a career in holistic health (this course and its contents can help people set up in business working with people and animals).
The courses cost £150. for Level One and £300. for Level Two, and include fully comprehensive manuals, internationally recognised and insurable Certificates, and my support is ongoing .
